Posted 02/09/2006 - 2:59am by Anubis I think its funny you brought up writting because I've been doing a little myself lately. I haven't started writing stories but I've been fleshing out the world like how the world began, the different races, a rough map of the world, mythologies, major events that have happened in the past you know all that kind of stuff. Just coming up with references I can use to write a story if I wanted to and it all be original material instead of using someone elses stuff.
Posted 02/09/2006 - 2:44am by Anubis I've read the first 2 books I have the 3rd one but its at my parents house. I prolly won't get it till go home which is lookin like the end of April time frame for my first R&R. I'll prolly order the others online somewhere down the road.
Posted 02/09/2006 - 12:38am by Poohminator I bet I can write a chapter before you can. ;)
Posted 02/09/2006 - 12:22am by KnocK Well to be fair...W&G is a good book, but yes I had such a hard time with it too. I read the gunslinger in 2.5 days, and drawing of the three in a little over 4 days...etc etc...it took me 3 and a half friggin months to get through Wizard and Glass :) Get through it man, it's worth it. Speaking of the DT series...Ed how far along are you? Pooh I am interested in writing some as well, maybe we can egg each other on :)
Posted 02/07/2006 - 10:16pm by Poohminator Not yet. I'm still in the mud puddle that is Wizard and Glass.
Posted 02/07/2006 - 9:41pm by KnocK
I will say that I have an alternate world where fictional characters are real.
I know Edge has, but Pooh have you read all of the 'Dark Tower' series?
Posted 02/07/2006 - 6:00pm by Poohminator Ok. So you know that I'm working on a book. Yeah, I've never written a book in my life, but did a few short stories in high school. I know how to read and talk, so I figured I can write too. I may make some grammar errors and stuff, but that's what editors are for. Anyway, I saw an ad for a book by Christopher Golden called The Myth Hunters. It seems like a good story. Why this post is in the "Things that piss you off" thread is because while my book is not The Myth Hunters, it does share an idea that mine does. Without giving away any of my book, I will say that I have an alternate world where fictional characters are real. Please tell me that this idea isn't original. I'd hate to hit it big, and then turn into the Dante's Peak of Volcano. Now the more I think about it, the less my book is similar to Myth Hunters. Ok. Nevermind. As long as I don't read it, I'll be ok. Now my only hurdle is if I can keep the book at teen reading, or will I cross over into adult. I just might...I just might.

Posted 01/06/2006 - 12:22pm by nilrem Most people that know me, don't think I'm a very religious person. Well the truth of the matter is there wrong! I am quite religious, I believe in god, I believe in the bible (even where I don't agree with it), and I believe I was saved. Now the thing that gives most people the idea that I'm not very religious is the fact that I HATE the church, in general, the people that go to church, in my opinion, are 95% busy bodies, and USE god as their scape goat. The people have lost, also my opinion, the true meaning of god, and what the church is supposed to stand for. They say things that make no since, and should probably be kept to themselves. For instance the story I posted, a supposed man of god (money obviously being his god in this case) spouting off how someone else deserves an illness, because the bible says so! OK fucktard, I believe you should have a stroke then, and I hope your mind stays intact while the rest of your body withers away, just so you can see how bad it really is. Also, I don't wish that upon this man in any way, as that would make me a hypocrite, like most the rest of the Cristian populace. This is not to start a religious debate or argument, if you have something to say that may start an argument, please tell me independently of this or keep it to yourself, peoples religious beliefs are theirs and theirs alone.

Posted 12/30/2005 - 10:19pm by quade When you're typing a path in Windows Explorer, and you mistype it, so instead of simply saying "Path not found" or something, it tries to look it up on the goddamn internet. If I wanted to surf the web, I sure as hell wouldn't be using explorer. Does anyone know how to turn that auto-search crap off?

Posted 12/29/2005 - 2:21pm by Poohminator It pisses me off when fast food joints put my burger in my bag sideways, just to get it to fit. |
