Posted 06/13/2010 - 11:03pm by quade Give me a good slogan that represents what you think The Geekhouse should be. Something like "TGH: Naked pics of Chains doing freaky shit"
Posted 06/13/2010 - 4:33pm by Chains I just want a place where i can post me naked doing all sorts of weird sex acts.
Posted 06/11/2010 - 8:25pm by Anubis I'd definatly like to see the gallery return. I had a lot of pics on it that I don't think I have anymore.
Posted 06/08/2010 - 11:55pm by Poohminator Reimagine BBS. I can't think of anything similar, but I really haven't looked. I guess digg would be the closest.
Posted 06/08/2010 - 11:53pm by Poohminator I do most of my surfing from my iPod. I would most definitely visit thegeekhouse daily if it was mobile accessible. Actually go beyond mobile and develop an app.
Posted 06/08/2010 - 8:47pm by Chains i like how it used to be in a way...it was cool to make your own sections and then add how you want....but what i would like on top of that is a feed of newly added picts on the front page. that would be cool...almost like a forums and showing the newiest posts on the main page.
Posted 06/08/2010 - 7:18pm by quade BTW, I took down the photo gallery...I had some requests, plus it was using Gallery 2 and I hadn't kept up with security updates. If you still want access to it though, I have it somewhere. Shoot me an email and I'll let you know how to get to it. In the meantime, what do you guys think about a photo gallery solution? Like Ed suggested, TGH served as a Facebook before there was a Facebook, and likewise it served as a Flickr before there was a Flickr. What would you guys prefer as far as photo galleries go?
Posted 06/08/2010 - 9:41am by Chains its a GREAT idea! hey quade...is there an API for facebook that will allow me to post my wall from facebook? i cant find one if there is. Kevin said he didnt think there was but i was curious if you knew of anything i could use
Posted 06/07/2010 - 6:51pm by quade I definitely like Ed's idea. A place that we can all post blogs and articles and even just half-developed thoughts or ideas to get a conversation going. I would love to incorporate Facebook and Twitter and Foursquare and anything else that we're using these days. They all have open APIs so pulling in the latest stuff from those wouldn't be hard.
Posted 05/23/2010 - 12:19pm by nilrem I like Ed's idea, but there would have to be accountability, but with out deadlines, I just don't know how you could do it.. Something else that would be cool, use the facebook login thing, where you integrate this site with the facebook api, which could allow us to do so much more, specially when they get their photos stuff going. so when we log into facebook we are also logging into this site and when we make facebook updates it updates things here...
Posted 05/18/2010 - 2:21pm by Anubis For all intents and purposes this site was our Myspace/ facebook before there was a Myspace/ facebook. And since everyone seems to be using those instead now, how about we turn this place into something else that would be fun for everyone. I'm open up to suggestions. Now with that being said. Here's my Idea. How about we change the whole dynamic of the page. I was thinking what if we made this place into somthing akin to what you guys are doing with Links Links on facebook but take it a bit further and make it almost like a online magazine for geeks. We're all gamers, we all like internet hilarity and oddities, we all like movies, and we all like food. So how about we write in-depth articles pertaining to those things instead of our normal one or two sentence posts. I'm not talking about having deadlines and all that, but more like you go to a movie, write a in depth review about it. Bought something on Blu-Ray review not just the movie but the DVD itself as far as special features and what not. Go to a resurant and critque not only the food, but the service and decor. Read a kick ass new novel, review it. Internet gems, link'em. Play a new game, review it and talk about some of the harder achievements to get. Found a new kick ass app for the Iphone or Ipad, review it. Run a D&D game or some other RPG write about the adventures. Do a review on whatever new Sourcebook or Handbook you happen to pick up. I'd even be up for politics as well, I just don't know how we'd go about it with out having friendship-destroying heated arguments over it. Just my 2 gp.
Posted 05/16/2010 - 7:24pm by Poohminator Members access to the photo gallery would be neat.
Posted 12/17/2009 - 11:17pm by DelMonte email alerts would be cool when a new post is made |
